2024-25 Highlights
As 2025 draws to a close, we are delighted to share some highlights from our 2024-25 Annual Report.
Our five year £2.99 million HealthTech Research Centre (HRC) award began in April 2024 and is funded by the National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR).
Our full name is the NIHR HRC in Diagnostic and Technology Evaluation. As our name suggests, we apply innovative clinical research methods to efficiently evaluate new diagnostic technologies.
Our goals for the HRC award are to:
- Ensure we meet public need by embedding the patient and public voice in our work
- Increase the number of highly skilled diagnostics evaluation methodologists
- Support small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) with development and commercialisation
of their technologies - Increase grant income and private sector investment in UK diagnostics
The document below provides a snapshot of the work we have been doing to achieve these goals during the 2024-25 financial year. We have also aligned our progress to the NIHR’s 4 Is: impact, inclusion, innovation and investment. These four themes help the NIHR drive health and social care improvement and underpin and support everything we do.
Our work is also supporting the “three shifts” outlined in the government’s 10 Year Health Plan from hospital to community, sickness to prevention and analogue to digital.
