Dr Rachel Dickinson discussed the work of the NIHR Newcastle MIC on a podcast that showcases research in the North East of England.

A Blind Date With Knowledge is a healthcare research podcast hosted by Laura Brady and Steven Liggett. The aim of the podcast is to shine a spotlight on the researchers, teams and other individuals involved in healthcare that are doing great work within the North East of England and beyond.

For the first Blind Date With Knowledge of 2024, Dr Rachel Dickinson, our Communications and Engagement Manager, discussed her interest in Genetics and Science Communication. Rachel also revealed her research journey which has taken her from Glasgow to Iowa, Birmingham, Edinburgh and now Newcastle.

The conversation highlighted the work of the NIHR Newcastle MIC and the importance we place on communication, patient and public involvement, collaboration and investing in training.  Rachel also shared the news regarding our recent funding award which will allow us to establish a HealthTech Research Centre in April 2024.
