Funding opportunities
If you plan to submit a grant application, we can support you and be a part of that application either as a co-applicant, collaborator or sub-contractor.
Since 2013, we have helped diagnostic innovators obtain over £25 million in external funding.
Listed below are some regular funding competitions which we have successfully applied to with innovators:
NIHR i4i Product Development Award (PDA) supports SMEs, NHS or social care providers, not-for-profit organisations and higher education institutions (HEIs), who are working collaboratively, with up to three years of funding. The lead organisation must be based in the UK. The application is a two stage process. The competition runs twice a year typically launching in autumn and spring.
NIHR i4i FAST (Funding At the Speed of Translation) is a funding scheme usually based around a particular theme and aimed at innovators who are in need of a small amount of funding to answer a single specific question. Applicants must be UK based SMEs, NHS or social care providers, not-for-profit organisations or higher education institutions. The scheme operates a single stage application process, providing between £15k to £50k of funding for projects that can last from 3 to 6 months.
Innovate UK Biomedical Catalyst supports UK registered SMEs with up to three years of funding to develop and test innovative health and care solutions. The funding is aimed at supporting SMEs to get projects to market quicker; de-risk early stage innovations and bring in private capital alongside grants for projects.
If you are interested in working with us on a grant application we ask for a minimum of two months’ notice in advance of the deadline. This increases the chance of a successful collaboration.
We expect to see the full application prior to submission of any grant, to ensure mutual understanding.
