New diagnostics can provide great advantages to patient care. However, diagnostics developers need to provide a portfolio of evidence that demonstrates these benefits before their technologies can reach the UK market and benefit patients, the public and the health and care system.
On 30 September and 1 October 2025, experts within our team will host an online course on how to effectively develop and evaluate new diagnostics.
We will provide a step-by-step guide to evidence generation alongside collaborators across Newcastle University, Newcastle Hospitals and the health technology industry. Sessions will include analysing patient care pathways, health economic benefits and the accuracy of new diagnostics as well as involving patients and the public in research. We will also highlight the support we offer to diagnostics developers at these stages.
The course will introduce key concepts and is suitable for anyone with an interest in this area.
